Ricardo Aranda Falvay is a Venezuelan who left
his country carrying its culture, its music, and
its stories in his heart. Years later, raising
bilingual children in the United States with his
Ecuadorian wife, he realized those stories needed
to exist as books — so his children could know
where they came from.

His second book, Echando Cuentos de Venezuela,
is a love letter to Venezuela told in rhymes —
covering its landscapes, food, music, wildlife,
slang, and Christmas traditions. It is the book
every Venezuelan parent has wanted to give their
children.

His first book, The Things Kids Say Growing Up
Bilingüe, captures the humor and wisdom of
raising children between two cultures and two
languages.

Ricardo is also the proud father of Ricky Aranda,
who at 11 years old published his own book,
Sunrise in the Amazon — a story about protecting
the rainforest.

A family that writes. A family that never forgets
where it comes from.

Ricardo studied at Cornell University and lives
in Newton, Massachusetts with his wife and
two children.
