Rachel Thorne is the pen name of bestselling author Denise Grover Swank. While Denise now focuses mostly on mysteries, Rachel writes sweet, feel-good romcoms filled with heart, humor, and happily ever afters. Rachel—okay, fine, Denise—is a single mom to three French bulldogs and one half–Golden Retriever. She also has six human children, all technically adults, though the jury’s still out on a few of them. She lives at the Lake of the Ozarks in the middle of Missouri. Yes, that Lake of the Ozarks—like the show Ozark—although not exactly like the show. She’s yet to see Marty Byrde or anyone else from the series, and for the record, the lake isn’t that wide, and the shoreline is absolutely packed with docks. (Those scenes were filmed in Georgia. False advertising much?) Rachel’s hobbies include reading, wasting massive amounts of time on Facebook and Reddit’s AITA threads, deck gardening (poorly), and learning how to drive her new used boat—which keeps breaking down. (It’s not her fault. She swears.) Rachel hopes you love her books—and if you do, she’d love for you to leave a review. Denise, meanwhile, is busy cleaning up after the dogs.
