Paul Guernsey is an award-winning novelist and a former editor and associate publisher of Fly Rod & Reel Magazine. Set in Maine and Argentina, "Rolling Back the River" is his fourth novel—and his first fiction in which fly-fishing plays a central role. An excerpt from the novel appeared in the October 2025 issue of "Gray's Sporting Journal." His previous novel, "American Ghost," won the 2018 Maine Book Award in the speculative fiction category. His many non-fiction publications on the sport of fly-fishing include his book, "Beyond Catch & Release: Exploring the Future of Fly Fishing." When not traveling widely in search of angling adventures, Paul Guernsey lives and fishes in Maine.
