Mimika Cooney writes emotionally rich, closed-door contemporary romances about intelligent women, meaningful work, and love that grows through restraint, timing, and choice.

She wrote her first story idea on a typewriter at the age of ten, then took the scenic route through four careers before returning to her first love of storytelling forty years later.

Her novels blend slow-burn romance, warmth, wit, and emotional depth with aspirational settings from New York and London to Paris and the European coast. Her stories explore quiet connection, personal courage, healing, and the choices that can change the course of a life.

Mimika believes love and faith go hand in hand. Faith appears gently in her stories as an interior grounding rather than a plot driver, while romance remains character-driven, emotionally intelligent, and closed-door.

Born in South Africa and now living in the United States, Mimika brings a global perspective and a lifelong love of travel, culture, and observation to her fiction.

A hopeless romantic, she has been married to her childhood sweetheart for thirty years and is a mom of three.

When she isn’t writing or planning her next research trip, you’ll probably find her on the ice as an adult figure skater, or stabbing people for fun without getting arrested as an amateur fencer.
