Midalys Padron Born in Cuba and shaped by a journey from adversity to freedom, Midalys discovered in literature the power to turn pain into beauty. As a child, she would recreate radio dramas into stories, and over time, that need to narrate became her most authentic voice. Author of Broken Butterflies (Mariposas Rotas) and Of Sex and Other Matters (De Sexo y Otros Asuntos), she writes not to decorate reality but to reveal it. Her narratives are raw mirrors—sometimes uncomfortable, always liberating—where wounds transform into words and memory into resistance. Inspired by women such as Frida Kahlo and Sylvia Plath, Midalys invites her readers to step into the space where the personal and the social meet—where healing begins with the courage to truly look.
