Marques Lewis is an award-winning author, former radio personality, media correspondent, and entrepreneur whose career spans publishing, broadcasting, sales, film, and digital influence. His journey from Irvington, New Jersey to Southwest Georgia reflects faith, resilience, and creative evolution. Born in Irvington, New Jersey, Marques relocated with his family to Leesburg, Georgia in 1997. He graduated from Darsey Private High School and later earned his Commercial Truck Driving Certificate from Albany Technical College. Literary Career & Publishing Marques began writing at the age of seven, penning his first short story, Detective David: “The Missing Toy Boat.” After a 15-year hiatus, he rediscovered his passion for writing after being inspired by author Zane. That inspiration reignited his creativity and launched his professional writing career. His poems “Weak” and “I Am a Woman” were featured in The Poetic Lounge Vol. 2 and 3 (2010 & 2012). He later authored multiple novels including Never Settle Never Again, The Side Chick Who Turned Into A Wife, He Cheats Too, Married But Still Single And Lonely, Stop Going Back, and Dating Jordan. Marques also published children’s books including Detective Dan & The Missing Toy Boat and Saniyah’s Special Surprise. In 2013, he received the “Best Selling Award” and was runner-up for “Author of the Year” at the One Karma Publishing Banquet in Alpharetta, Georgia. He later founded Marques Lewis Enterprise, expanding into independent publishing and author mentorship. Film & Television Appearances Marques expanded into acting, appearing as a football player in Facing the Giants and portraying a detective in Taken 3. In July 2021, he appeared as an extra on the set of Sistas at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Plus more. Radio, Media & Sales Career In August 2021, Marques joined Olive Broadcasting Network as an On-Air Personality and was promoted to Promotions Director within six months. He is a former On-Air Personality for WZBN Praise 105.5FM, hosting “The Mid Day Gospel Music And More With Marques Lewis.” He also contributed on-air and conducted interviews across affiliated stations including WGSW 106.9 Rejoice and WTTY 97.7 The Beat, home of The Steve Harvey Morning Show. Through these platforms, Marques served as a media correspondent, interviewing national entertainers, athletes, and political figures. In addition to on-air media, Marques gained broadcast advertising and client relations experience as a Sales Representative with iLove Broadcasting Network. He worked directly with major clients including Hilton Garden Inn, Georgia National Fair, and Red Lobster, further strengthening his expertise in media sales, promotions, and brand partnerships. In recognition of his community impact and influence, Marques also had a signature meal named after him at DJ Thomas Smoke BBQ. Media Highlights & Recognition Marques has interviewed notable figures including John Legend, Tye Tribbett, Zacardi Cortez, Tyrone Poole (2-time Super Bowl Champion), Aries Spears, West Love, Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Kellie Shanygne Williams. He participated in the BET HBCU Honors media roundtable and conducted interviews connected to the Biden administration plus more. His radio show ranked in the Nielsen Ratings Book for two consecutive years and he was nominated for Local Author and On-Air Personality in the 2024 Albany Herald Readers’ Choice Awards but won Local Author. Digital Influence & Mission Marques is also a TikTok content creator with over 110,000 followers, producing relationship advice, motivational content, faith-based encouragement, and comedy.
