Marly Cornell is an artist, writer, and social justice advocate with a BFA from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and an MA from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. She maintains a painting and writing studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she lives with her husband Ernie Feil and dogs Zoey, Noodle, George, and Raji. Her book about her daughter, The Able Life of Cody Jane: Still Celebrating, won a Midwest Book Award; Seeds for Change: The Lives and Work of Suri and Edda Sehgal won multiple book awards: a silver Foreword Reviews magazine Indie Book of the Year Award, two gold Midwest Book Awards, a first place National Indie Excellence Awards, two silver Ben Franklin Awards, and first place in the 2016 International Book Awards (IBA) in biography. Together We Empower: Rekindling Hope in Rural India won a National Indie Excellence Award, was a finalist for a Foreword Reviews Indie Book of the Year Award, and won first place in the 2016 International Book Awards (IBA) in Social Change.
