Marcus Ryder is a leading figure in the UK in discussions around anti-racism, equality, diversity and inclusion. He has published work in numerous national newspapers including the Guardian, The Times, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Mirror, and The Metro as well as a range of magazines and periodicals. In 2011 he launched the highly successful blog 'Black on White TV' http://blackonwhitetv.blogspot.com/ focusing on equality and diversity in the television industry writing in non-technical language with insider personal anecdotes and a touch of humour. He is currently the Head of External Consultancies at the Sir Lenny Henry Centre for Media Diversity. He has spent over 25 years working in the media across the world including the UK, China and Malaysia; and eight years as a senior executive at the BBC, winning numerous industry awards - from Baftas to Royal Television Society Awards and Foreign Press Association Awards. Most recently he was appointed Chair of RADA and is also a Trustee for Press Pad - a charity focusing on increasing media access to people across society. He is a keen amateur runner, and has run 20 marathons across the world on every continent except Antarctica.
