Manuel Vergara is a Colombian American physician. After obtaining his medical degree from the Javeriana University in 1988 in Bogota, Colombia, He worked as an Emergency Room doctor at the Colombian Red Cross for five years before relocating to the US in 1993. He specialized in Neurology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, served as Chief resident during his last year. He then moved to New Orleans for subspecialization in Neuromuscular Diseases. He is currently practicing Neurology in Lawrenceville/Princeton, NJ. He has been drawn to the deep questions regarding life, purpose, universe and life origin, consciousness, and our material and spiritual nature. He considers himself an objective thinker and maintains a sense of wonder and marvel at nature, the cosmos, the intricate and complex and wonderful mechanisms in biology from the cell up, and enjoy reading about the great scientific minds through history. In No Greater Faith than that of Science, He wanted to share with the reader some of his personal reflections about the basic questions of life and our existence. _________________________________________________________________________________________________  Manuel Vergara es un médico colombo-estadounidense. Después de obtener su título de médico de la Universidad Javeriana en 1988 en Bogotá, Colombia, trabajó como médico de la sala de emergencias de la Cruz Roja Colombiana durante cinco años antes de trasladarse a los EE. UU. en 1993. Se especializó en Neurología en el SUNY Downstate Medical Center en Brooklyn, Nueva York, y se desempeñó como jefe de residentes durante su último año. Luego se trasladó a Nueva Orleans para especializarse en Enfermedades Neuromusculares. Actualmente ejerce la neurología en Lawrenceville/Princeton, NJ. Se ha sentido atraído por las preguntas profundas sobre la vida, el propósito, el universo y el origen de la vida, la conciencia y nuestra naturaleza material y espiritual. Se considera a sí mismo un pensador objetivo y mantiene un sentido de asombro y maravilla ante la naturaleza, el cosmos, los intrincados, complejos y maravillosos mecanismos de la biología desde la célula hacia arriba, y disfruta leyendo sobre las grandes mentes científicas a lo largo de la historia.
