M K Murphy is a pen name of Margaret Murphy. Margaret has published 12 internationally acclaimed psychological crime novels under her own name, and 5 forensic thrillers as Ashley Dyer and AD Garrett. She is a past Chair of the Crime Writers Association (CWA), and also chaired the CWA Debut Dagger for two years. In 2000, Margaret founded Murder Squad, a self-promotion collective of ‘midlist’ writers, two of whom have since been honoured with the CWA’s top award, the Diamond Dagger. A former RLF Writing Fellow and Reading Round Lector, she has taught on undergraduate and Masters courses in Creative Writing. A Short Story Dagger, HRF Keating, and CWA Red Herring award winner, she has also longlisted for the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger and shortlisted for the ‘First Blood’ critics award and CWA Dagger in the Library. Her work has garnered no less that FOUR coveted Publishers Weekly starred reviews.
