THE LOST ARCHIVE, a collection of stories, is my fifth book of fiction. Fraught relationships, mistaken identities, mysterious disappearances, and the search for love play out in these stories. Friendships are celebrated, ex-husbands cross the line, and Gertrude Stein attempts to write her memoir. My fourth novel, THE UNMASKING, came out in 2020 and is an homage to the locked-room mystery beloved by Agatha Christie and others. The novel is a mystery involving a group of friends at a festival celebrating the performance of famous women in history. My third novel, THE DAY AFTER DEATH, was a 2017 Lambda Literary Award finalist in lesbian fiction. Earlier novels are THE FOOL'S JOURNEY and DEATH OF A DEPARTMENT CHAIR. I'm co-author of FIND YOUR STORY, WRITE YOUR MEMOIR. I live in Albuquerque and am a novelist and playwright, performer, and educator. A frequent speaker about the craft of writing, I lead writing retreats and workshops and am co-publisher of Bosque Press and prose editor of the journal ABQ inPrint. I co-host the podcast "The Unruly Muse." My plays have been produced in Austin, Tulsa, Albuquerque, Provincetown, Yaddo, and elsewhere. I’ve written plays about the work of many women writers, including Gertrude Stein, Edith Wharton, Victoria Woodhull, and Katherine Anne Porter. I’ve taught writing and performance at the University of Southern California, Penn. State University, and the University of Texas at Austin where I was a professor in theater and gender studies for 27 years. I am now co-publisher of Bosque press in Albuquerque where I lead workshops and retreats for writers.
