LUCILLE TURNER writes historical fiction inspired by extraordinary lives. Her debut novel, GIOCONDA, was described by the Financial Times as “a lush, evocative and remarkably accomplished debut novel”, was translated into several languages and won Spain’s Hislibris Prize for Historical Fiction in 2012. Her second novel, THE SULTAN, THE VAMPYR AND THE SOOTHSAYER, received a Bronze Independent Publisher Book Award in 2017. Her latest novel, MASTER OF GRAVITY, tells the story of Isaac Newton and will be published in 2027 to coincide with the 300th anniversary of his death.
Lucille holds a Master’s degree in Comparative Literature and has worked as a translator, journalist and teacher. She lives in the New Forest in southern England.
