Leigh Newman’s memoir about growing up in Alaska, "Still Points North" was a finalist for the National Book Critic Circle’s John Leonard prize. Her new collection "Nobody Gets Out Alive" includes stories that have appeared in Harper’s,The Paris Review, The Best American Short Stories, Tin House, Electric Literature and McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern. In 2020, she was awarded a Pushcart prize and the American Society of Magazine Editor's fiction prize, as well as received the Paris Review’s Terry Southern Prize for “humor, wit, and sprezzatura.” She lives in the woods of Connecticut with 2 dogs, 2 chickens, a cat and a few feral kids.
