Excited t o get a starred Kirkus review. "A riveting fictional meditation on the persistent drive to find acceptance and connection." https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/leaf-seligman/from-the-midway-unfolding-stories-of-redemption-an/ I began writing during my childhood in Tennessee where I encountered the midway, tent revivals and the Civil Rights movement. I have been teaching writing in jails, prisons, colleges, and community settings since 1985. My first paid job I worked as a groundskeeper at a 185 acre memorial park (cemetery) in Nashville and after that I have worked as a prep cook, chocolatier, college instructor, minister, jail chaplain, youth services case worker, and restorative justice practitioner. Current writing projects transforming From the Midway into performance. At the heart of it all is redemption, freedom from harm, because it is only in an uncondemned state that any of us can change.
