Kwok Pui-lan was born in Hong Kong and is Distinguished Scholar at the Episcopal Divinity School and a former president of the American Academy of Religion. She has published extensively in Asian feminist theology, biblical interpretation, and postcolonial criticism. She is the cofounder of the network Pacific, Asian, North American Asian Women in Theology and Ministry and enjoys water aerobics and reading. Kwok is the author and editor of numerous books in English and Chinese, including "The Anglican Tradition from a Postcolonial Perspective," "Postcolonial Politics and Theology," “Postcolonial Imagination and Feminist Theology,” “Occupy Religion: Theology of the Multitude,” (with Joerg Rieger), “Introducing Asian Feminist Theology,” and “Discovering the Bible in the Non-Biblical World.” She is coeditor of the book series “Religion in the Modern World” published by Bloomsbury. She has a Substack and podcast "Kwok 'n' Roll" and a YouTube channel "Kwok Pui Lan".
