Kathy Harms is a writer, photographer, and storyteller born in British Columbia, Canada, and currently living in Porto, Portugal. Before embracing creative pursuits, she worked as a paramedic in rural BC and Vancouver, and spent nearly ten years volunteering with a Canadian NGO specialising in medical aid and disaster relief — an experience that became the basis for her memoir, Resilience in the Rubble: A True Story of Aid and Survival in Kashmir. By Happenstance, the stories of her parents before they were her parents, grew from a desire to document the lives of the people who shaped her, and she invites to others to do the same. Kathy lives and works in Porto with her husband.
