My friends call me just 'Kate'. I have been writing since I was a child and apparently was rather good at it since my 7th grade teacher accused me of plagiarizing a story that I had written for English class. There is something magical that happens when I put a pen to paper to begin a new book. Although I have a semblance of where I wish the storyline to go, as soon as the characters take form, I become more an observer, reporting were I am led. When I was writing my first published novel, 'A Miracle for St. Cecilia's', George the plumber, just showed up one day and never left. My husband 'St. Paul' likes to tell the story of how when he come home from work I would often meet him at the front door shouting, "You won't believe what George did today!" Perhaps I inherited my love of storytelling from my Irish ancestry. But however it came, I am especially fond of stories that revolve around small country towns. Having lived in several throughout my married life, I am always thrilled when someone begins a sentence with...."Let me tell you about the time...."
