Karlijn Burkey is a talented author whose love for storytelling began in her teenage years. Her early gift for crafting vivid, emotionally resonant stories eventually grew into a wide-ranging career in journalism, media, and literature. Over the years, she founded newspapers, television channels, and magazines in the Seacoast region and abroad, shaping conversations and bringing community voices forward. Her novels reflect both her lived experience and her deep interest in the human condition. Works such as The Squatters, This Is Not Your Land, Stained, Free Ride, and The Swindler explore themes of financial struggle, immigration, workplace injustice, crime, and espionage. Each story is driven by characters written with empathy, nuance, and a clear understanding of the social forces around them. Karlijn writes fiction under several pen names, allowing her to explore a variety of genres and storytelling style's. She is currently developing new novels while collaborating with film producers who are adapting her stories for the screen. Outside her writing life, she is a social scientist who has authored multiple articles and dissertations on the social issues that continue to inspire her work.
