Jose Escoto is a heart transplant survivor, storyteller, and advocate whose life and work are rooted in faith, family, and purpose. Based in Southern California, Jose lives with his wife of 22 years, Evie, and their 19-year-old son, Michael, who is currently a college freshman. At his core, he is simply Michael’s dad and Evie’s husband—roles he considers his greatest accomplishments. With over twenty years of experience in the construction industry, Jose has built a career grounded in relationships, leadership, and service. That same mindset carries into every aspect of his life, shaping how he connects with others and supports those around him. Jose’s journey through heart failure, living with an LVAD, and ultimately receiving a life-saving heart transplant transformed his perspective on life. Now five years post-transplant, he is a passionate advocate for organ donation and uses his experience to inspire others facing their own challenges. His story is one of resilience, gratitude, and second chances—one he shares to bring hope and perspective to those who need it most. Professionally and personally, Jose is known as a leader who leads with authenticity and intention. Through speaking, writing, and mentorship, he continues to turn his lived experience into a message that extends far beyond himself. Outside of his advocacy work, Jose enjoys traveling with his family, biking, and discovering new restaurants whenever possible. He’s also a car enthusiast, a lover of architectural history, and, by his own admission, a bad golfer. At the center of everything he does is a simple belief: life is a gift—and every moment matters.
