John J. Waldron graduated from Robert Morris University in 1982. He began his public accounting career in the Miami office of Price Waterhouse, where he focused on tax and other financial planning matters for privately held companies and their owners, domestic and international trust planning, and business consulting. John left Price Waterhouse and took a position with Deloitte in Pittsburgh in 1986. At Deloitte he continued his domestic and international tax work for business owners and was part of a national executive financial planning practice. In this capacity, he managed the financial planning and investment affairs for many of the top executives and board members of the world’s largest audit and tax clients and owners of closely held businesses. In 1990, John left his career in public accounting to pursue his entrepreneurial instincts and create a unique wealth management practice, integrating an independent investment management service into the complex financial, tax, and family lives of his clientele. John built Waldron Private Wealth based on his firm conviction that a thorough understanding of a client’s entire financial picture and their unique goals must be in place before effective financial advice can be given. At the time, the independent fee-based and consultative service model he developed was disruptive to the financial planning and investment management industries, but now, that model is what most firms aspire to follow. This model has helped Waldron Private Wealth earn national recognition, including being named the #1 Wealth Advisor in Pennsylvania in Forbes 2019 Best in State rank- ings and being one of only twelve firms nationwide ranking in Barron’s Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors each of the thirteen years the rankings have been published. John lives in Nevillewood, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Maureen. In the winter they enjoy spending time at their home in Grand Cayman. Their preferred activities include traveling, tennis, scuba diving, bike riding, boating, and working out.
