Jim Tuman is a man on a mission to help kids. A documentary called "The Tuman Effect" was made about his work. A graduate of Michigan State University, he has developed three national programs dealing with youth, women and returning veterans. Recently Jim was featured in the critically acclaimed national movie "A Girl Like Her" and spoke at a TEDx Talk (2015). He has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS national news, The Today Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show. He has been featured in: Newsweek, USA Today, Business Week, Chicago Sun Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Newsday, Detroit Free Press, Detroit News and the New York Times. Jim was invited by fourteen world leaders to talk about the breakdown of families and has been the subject of a nationwide documentary show in Japan. He believes in balance in his life and has done such diverse things as being a circus clown, rodeo rider, symphony musician, cake decorator and parade enthusiast. He has served as a famine relief worker in Ethiopia and worked as a roadee with the rock band Journey. Passing the milestone of speaking to more than two million students in more than 2000 schools nationwide, he was named Detroit News "Michiganian of the Year" and 2012 Distinguished Alumni from Michigan State University.
