Jenita Lawal was born in the Midwest but was raised as an Army Brat living in Hawaii and Savannah, GA. A transplanted Southerner, she made her home in Nashville, TN for 16 years before embarking on life abroad in Mexico. While she holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and an MBA, her life work is centered around creating community, living an authentic life, and coaching others to success. Not one to be confined to categories, Jenita is also freelance writer for a few digital publications and a local magazine in Mexico, Yucatán Magazine. When she’s not writing, she can be found having conversations with interesting people, journaling in a coffee shop, or herding a gaggle of teenagers. Jenita currently lives in Merida, Mexico with her three teenage sons and is the founder of the Merida Teens Club and the LS Learning Studio.
