As Chief Science Officer, she traveled throughout the US and as far away as Beijing to raise investment money for the start-up company which created hardware and software systems to help people with chronic diseases such as diabetes. Jamie is a former volunteer fellow with the Center for Entrepreneurial Learning and Leadership at Georgia Southern University, held the position of Director of Entrepreneurial Development with the Savannah Economic Development Authority and the Creative Coast Alliance, and was the Director of Solutions for the first two years of the Savannah Ocean Exchange. 

Jamie has served on a number of boards including the

 Industry Advisory Board for Computer Science and Information Technology programs at Armstrong Atlantic State University, the
 Technology Association of Georgia's Economic Gardening program, the micro-lender, ACCION, in Savannah, GA, and the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce, Georgia. She's been a certified Business Incubator Manager, wrote regularly for the Lowcountry Weekly and has taught at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute for boomer entrepreneurs. Jamie is also a former boxing coach and gym owner, has three adult children, and lives in Beaufort, SC where she tends a number of rescue critters!
