Since May 1, 1990, Hermawan Kartajaya has served as the
Founder and Chair of MCorp (MarkPlus). Hermawan born
November 18, 1947) is widely recognized as the “Father of
Asia Marketing” and has co-authored 14 international
books with Philip Kotler since 1998, with plans to
continue collaborating on at least three upcoming titles.​

He is the Co-Founder of the World Marketing Forum
(WMF), Honorary Founding Chairman of the Indonesia
Marketing Association (IMA), Tri-Founder of the Philip
Kotler Center for ASEAN Marketing, Chairman of the Asia
Small Business Federation (ASBF), Chairman of the Asia
Marketing Federation (AMF), and Founding Chairman of
the World Marketing Council (WMC).​

His global contributions were recognized when he was
listed among the “50 Gurus Who Have Shaped the Future
of Marketing” by the Chartered Institute of Marketing
(CIM-UK) in 2003. CIM-UK is one of the world’s most
prestigious professional marketing associations. On 13
November 2025, during the 5th World Marketing Forum in
Colombo, Sri Lanka, CIM-UK awarded him the Honorary
Fellow, the highest distinction in the field of marketing by
CIM-UK.​

Previously, in 2009, the Pan-Pacific Business Association
of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln honored him with
the Distinguished Global Leadership Award.​

On 20 November 2025, he was also appointed Honorary
Global Marketing Advisor by the China Council for the
Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) during the pre-
launch of the Operational Excellence book at the
Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, China.​

In 2025, he also set a Guinness World Record for “Most
Users in a Branding Video Lesson” through a live webinar
conducted from the Museum of Marketing.
