Raised in Baltimore, Maryland on a steady diet of magical realism, literary fiction, science-fiction, and Spider-Man comics, Harrison Demchick spent most of his formative years inside his own head, working out strange thoughts and ideas that would eventually make their way into stories, screenplays, and songs. As a developmental editor, Harrison has worked on more than eighty published books. As an author, he’s written literary horror novel The Listeners (Bancroft Press, 2012) and short stories including “Magicland” (Phantom Drift, 2019), "Tailgating" (Tales to Terrify, 2020), “The Yesterday House” (Aurealis, 2020), and "Sophie Anne" (Nightscript, 2022). As a screenwriter, his first film, Ape Canyon, won Best Feature at the 2020 Adrian International Film Festival and launched to streaming services in Spring 2021. Harrison currently lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife Carolyn and their two cats with a combined seven legs.
