I am Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Sussex, UK, where my research interests are anxiety, worry, phobias and the role of the disgust emotion in psychopathology. I have written a range of teaching and research books, most recently on clinical psychology and psychopathology. I am a past President of the British Psychological Society, and am a former founding Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Experimental Psychopathology.
