Gottfried Warner was born in Hamburg and still lives in northern Germany. The closeness of the sea, the quiet atmosphere of small towns, and the feeling of home all shape his stories.

His novels follow people at turning points in their lives who must find the courage to trust their hearts. Often, they are men who appear settled and self-assured, yet still have to learn what it truly means to find where they belong.

His days usually begin early, with a cup of Earl Grey tea, while his two cats remain firmly convinced that every keyboard belongs to them. Many of his ideas take shape during these quiet morning hours.

On cool evenings, he likes to spend time outside beneath the stars. In the stillness of the night, he finds inspiration for stories about second chances, finding one’s place in life, and the quiet power of love.
