I'm an entrepreneur and employee engagement expert. I was a CEO for 17 years, building a £1bn revenue global technology business. I've learned my lessons the hard way - by doing it. I'm not a consultant with a theoretical model, I've got the scars from doing this for real. A software engineer by training and MBA drop out by choice, it took a ten-year corporate career for me to understand how employee disengagement feels. I eventually escaped and went back to my roots as an entrepreneur where I perfected the art of treating people properly to get the best out of them. After a series of failed businesses, I founded Reward Gateway back in 2006 with a radical, new approach and a fresh ambitious outlook to challenge the financial services industry. EVERYONE said that we'd be bust within a year. But companies loved what we did and we thrived. 15 years later, Reward Gateway has nearly 2500 clients in 23 countries serviced by 500 staff in nine offices. we've sold the business to private equity three times, and I finally stepped down as CEO in 2017 to focus on sharing what I'd learned about people and employee engagement. Building RG I learned a huge amount about leadership, company culture and how to create an environment where people can do their best work. I live in Berlin, Germany with my partners Kristian & Lucas and a Daschund called Wesley and have retired from business and HR.
