I grew up in South Carolina and lived there until 2011, until God dragged me, kicking and screaming, to Tennessee. I'd always been a writer in the public relations and communications field. For most of my life, I'd known that one day God would want me to write for Him, but I had no idea what or when that would be. On Oct. 31, 2011, I met Mark Smith and we fell in love almost immediately. When I heard Mark's amazing testimony, I knew what God was calling me to write. My first two books are based on true stories from Mark's lifetime in service to God. They are about God's amazing ability to use ordinary people in extraordinary ways, if we just get out of His way and let Him work. Mark passed away in September 2018. My third book, scheduled out in September 2019, is also based on his true story but also incorporates a second main character and her testimony. Lamp to My Feet is dedicated to Mark's memory and to our five children.
