While growing up, Darlene Duemo always dreamed of becoming a teacher. As a fiercely intelligent woman, she pursued a career path in the accounting world and that has been her chosen profession. A difficult life event changed her path, and she began to write, igniting a passion to guide children towards God. Despite having never written much more than school essays, letters, or work memos, the words flowed from her so easily she knew she had found her true calling: teaching children the love of the Lord. Children have always been a constant passion. Darlene taught Sunday School, was a Bible Camp kitchen helper and Camp counsellor. Her most treasured occupation was that of a Financial Controller for a School Division, making sure that monies were there to provide the best education for the children in various districts. She considered this a great privilege, and that is where the journey of her first book began, as an unwelcomed illness overtook her. Darlene has endured many difficult challenges, but her hope is firm in God's good plans for each of us. She believes there are great things in store for you and for her. She knows this promise to be true: that in our weakness, God is strong. A single mother with a beautiful, amazing daughter, Tonia, She lives in Vernon, British Columbia with her Boston Terrier, Daisy, who is a beacon of light for everyone who meets her.
