A Gothic historical novel, TLH can be described as Bram Stoker’s Dracula meets The Favourite, with a dash of The Devil Wears Prada thrown in for good measure. The story draws on the legend of one of history’s most infamous alleged female serial killers – the countess Bathory.

THE LAST HANDMAID is a story about power, manipulation, and cultural narcissism, inspired by the myth surrounding the real Countess Bathory: a woman alleged to have tortured hundreds of girls and bathed in their blood, assisted by a circle of evil servants.
