Christopher L. Eisgruber has served as the 20th president of Princeton University since taking office in July 2013. A constitutional scholar, he holds degrees from Princeton, the University of Oxford, and the University of Chicago Law School. At Princeton, he is the Laurance S. Rockefeller Professor of Public Affairs and the Center for Human Values. Earlier in his career, he taught at the New York University School of Law and clerked for Judge Patrick Higginbotham of the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and Justice John Paul Stevens of the United States Supreme Court. Chris grew up in West Lafayette, Indiana, and Corvallis, Oregon. A life-long Cubs fan, he enjoys cooking, crosswords, mystery novels, time with family, and walking his dog, Buster.
