Hi, I’m Christian Siregar, a lifelong learner, global citizen, and curious mind with a passion for helping people make sense of our fast-changing world. I was born in Queens, New York, and grew up in a swirl of cultures, languages, and life lessons that still shape who I am today. My father was from the Batak tribe of Sumatra, Indonesia; my mother, a Frenchwoman raised by Catholic nuns. Together, they gave me a front-row seat to two very different worlds, and I’ve been exploring the space in between ever since. At five years old, I was sent to a boarding house in the French Alps, where I learned early on how to be independent, how to think deeply, and how to be okay with being on my own. That experience, combined with stories of my father’s own childhood in post-colonial Indonesia, gave me an appreciation for emotional resilience and a deep respect for human connection. My path wasn’t straightforward. I moved often, switching between French, American, and Spanish schools, learning not just new languages but new ways of thinking. It wasn’t always easy to fit in, but I figured out how to adapt, how to listen and observe, how to read a room. Along the way, I discovered that intelligence isn’t just about brainpower; it’s about emotion, meaning, and intention. That realization would become central to much of the work I do today. After high school, I travelled, studied a little bit of everything (biology, linguistics, psychology), and somehow, despite not being “a math person”, earned a degree in Applied Mathematics. Later, I completed a Master’s in Technology & Society, which tied all my interests together: people, progress, and the ethical questions that come with innovation. These days, I live in Canada with my spouse (we met in a New York restaurant after I played a Flamenco set...long story) and our two children. I’ve worn many hats over the years: teacher, entrepreneur, corporate executive, trainer. I’m also a Certified Professional Learning Executive, and I’ve spent a lot of time working on how people and organizations learn, grow, and evolve. Now, I focus on AI governance and technology that puts people first. I write to share what I’ve learned, not just about intelligence, or AI, or ethics, but about how to stay human in a digital world. If you’re looking for tools to grow, adapt, and thrive in uncertain times, I hope my work gives you something useful, and maybe even a little inspiration.
