Chin-Sun Lee is Korean-American and the youngest child of North Korean exiles. After a long career in fashion design, she earned an MFA in Creative Writing at The New School in New York. Her work has appeared in Electric Literature, Literary Hub, The Georgia Review, Brooklyn Rail, and Joyland, among other publications. She's also a contributor to the New York Times bestselling anthology Women in Clothes (Blue Rider Press/Penguin 2014). She currently lives in New Orleans. Upcountry is her debut. Her second novel, a speculative thriller titled Soon You'll Be Just Like Us, is forthcoming in May 2027 with Creature Publishing.
