Van Dixhoorn is Professor of Church History and Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, and an honorary research fellow in the School of History at the University of East Anglia, UK. Previously he has taught at RTS Washington (2008-2018) and Westminster Theological Seminary (2018-2023). A Canadian by birth, Chad Van Dixhoorn is a graduate of Westminster Theological Seminary (MDiv, ThM) and the University of Cambridge (PhD). He has held three fellowships at the University of Cambridge. His five-volume work on the Westminster assembly was published by Oxford University Press in 2012, and his edition of John Lightfoot's Journals in 2023. Van Dixhoorn served as a pastor at Cambridge Presbyterian Church (UK) and then at Grace Presbyterian Church (Vienna, VA) for nine years. Chad and his wife Emily have five children. Her first book is entitled Confessing the Faith Study Guide, and together they have written Gospel-Shaped Marriage: Grace for Sinners to Love like Saints (Crossway). He enjoys woodworking and age-appropriate sports, but excels in none of these.
