CAROLYN MARY KLEEFELD Born in England, philosopher, poet, prose-writer and visual artist Carolyn Mary Kleefeld grew up in Southern California and studied art and psychology at UCLA. Her innovative writing and artwork have been used for over twenty-five years in the fields of human consciousness and creativity. A visionary pioneer, Ms. Kleefeld has the rare ability to convey through lyrical language, metaphor and symbolic image, the spiritual potential of human beings. A passion for creative expression and a lifelong fascination with spiritual transformation have ignited Carolyn to become an award-winning poet, author, and artist. She is the author of nineteen books, a variety of which are used as inspirational texts in universities and healing centers, and are featured along with the writings of seven other acclaimed woman writers in a continuing course, "The Other Half of the Sky: Eight Woman Writers," taught at Swansea University in Wales by poet and publisher Peter Thabit Jones. Carolyn's poetry and prose has been nominated for The Pushcart Prize, and her first book, "Climates of the Mind," was translated into Braille by the Library of Congress. Her writings have been translated into Korean, Romanian, Japanese, Italian, Sicilian, Chinese, Arabic, Bengali, and Bulgarian. Her poetry book, "Vagabond Dawns," is published in both an English/Korean bilingual edition and an English/Romanian bilingual edition. Carolyn's book of philosophical aphorisms, "Soul Seeds: Revelations and Drawings," is published in a bilingual English-Korean edition and will be published in a bilingual Romanian edition and a trilingual Italian/Sicilian edition in 2014 and bilingual Bengali, Chinese, and Serbian editions in 2015. Over the past two decades, Carolyn has created an extensive and diverse body of paintings and drawings, ranging in style from romantic figurative to abstract. The Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art at Pepperdine University exhibited a retrospective of Carolyn's paintings and drawings and published an exhibition catalog, Carolyn Mary Kleefeld: Visions from Big Sur, with art from the exhibit and a commentary by museum curator and director, Michael Zakian, PhD.
