Camden Gray is a Maryland-based children's author who writes books to help kids navigate divorce and family change.
When his own family went through divorce, Camden searched for books that could help his child make sense of the big emotions that come with living between two homes. He found a gap. So he filled it.
The result is the Sofia's Story series — honest, hopeful, and healing middle grade fiction for readers ages 9–14, told through the eyes of a child who feels what so many children feel: confused, scared, and wondering if any of it was her fault.
Sofia's story does what adults sometimes cannot. It gives kids the words they are searching for and the reassurance that they are not alone.
Camden writes for the children sitting quietly in the back seat. For the parents who don't know what to say at bedtime. And for the school counselors who show up every day to hold space for kids carrying weight far too heavy for their small shoulders.
No child should go through divorce without knowing that both homes still love them, that healing is possible, and that hope is always within reach.
