C. David Belt was born in the wilderness of Evanston, Wyoming, and grew up with a passport full of stamps and a head full of stories. He grew up running around the Far East, where once he gave a monkey in Thailand so many bananas the poor creature gave bananas up for life. A speaker of the Korean language and kimchi enthusiast, David was a Latter-day Saint missionary for the South Korea and Southern California mission. He went on to graduate from Brigham Young University with a BS degree in Computer Science and a minor degree in Aerospace Studies, never, by the way, having actually enrolled in a writing course (something he’s been making up for ever since with his novels). David’s career has been the script for an adventure film. He’s been a United States Air Force B-52 pilot and an Air Weapons Controller for the Washington Air National Guard, and he’s flown into situations so secret his family doesn’t even know where he was risking life and limb, besides the terrifying flights 200 feet above mountainous landscapes in an airplane with a 192-foot wingspan. When he wasn't up in the air, he sang. David sang for fifteen years with the world-renowned Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. Today, when he isn't writing or working as a software engineer, he can be found busily collecting and obsessively researching swords, spears, axes, and other medieval arms and armor. David and his wife live in Utah and have six children and a growing number of grandchildren.
