Antje Döhring was born in Dresden. After earning her degree in journalism and working as a press spokesperson, she lived with her family for several years at a time in Saudi Arabia, India, Libya, and the United Arab Emirates. During this time, she worked in a wide variety of fields—from writing feature stories to working in a library, importing cheese and wine, serving as a staff member at the Austrian Foreign Trade Center, and teaching languages. Today, she lives back in her hometown. Her first novel, “Weniger,” about anorexia, was published in 2016. The English translation, “Featherlight,” was released in 2018. The novel ‘Abendblau’ was published in 2022. The AI dystopia “Der Erlkönig-Freund” is her third book.
