Zlato has cultivated a fondness for reading, all kinds of reading, but most important, a passion for “Dune,” the 1965 epic science fiction novel by Frank Herbert, a piece of literature that has been salient in A.I. Zlato's life, in sad and joyful moments alike. An experienced author, A.I. Zlato conveys in writing a mishmash of existential proclivities, a sense of life, a desire to dream, a yearning for love and attention, among others, all of which have helped communicate with friends and family, with readers and colleagues over the years. After graduating with an Engineering degree and pursuing a successful career in safety management, quality assurance and environmental planning, A.I. Zlato, with the support and advice of close relatives, decided, a few years ago, to rekindle the once-burning flame of her first love: writing. A.I. Zlato has been penning all kinds of literary pieces for the last twenty years. In 2014, A.I. Zlato released, to critical acclaim, a novel, “An Odyssey into Dictatorship: Mother Against Daughter” (in French, “A L’école de la dictature: mère contre fille”). The book chronicles the journey of Anne, a 6-year-old girl who, after her father’s death, must forsake her hitherto dream life and follow her Slavic mother in the latter’s native country, to resume some sort of existence while grappling with the doldrums and constraints of Communism. In “Chaacetime,” a hard-science-fiction trilogy, A.I. Zlato fuses storytelling adroitness with thriller knowledge to offer several obfuscations to readers and critics alike. The sci-fi triptych is a narrative around the Cycle of Spaces, a tale meddling humans, Machines, hybrids and…well…Kandrons and Gateways, all seeking, fighting for, or working toward the Equilibrium — lest the Founding Elders’ dream be lost, and nothingness annihilate us all.
