Another Great Story
16 September 2018 - Published on Amazon.com
In this book, McGuire continues Sheriff O'Shea's life in Whispering Pines. As she and Tripp open their B&B and promote their grand opening, O'Shea's friends from college show support by booking the first long weekend of Labor Day. But all is not well with the group. One of the little groups 'other-halfs'is boorish and objectionable. Then, he is found dead by the side of the road. Was he a victim of a hit and run? Or, did one of the groups members have a motive to kill him? (I found myself unable to give the fifth star because the author is writing about a Sheriff with a K-9 side kick, but O'Shea does not seem aware of certain aspects of dog care, like chocolate and grapes could kill the dog. While she says her dog didn't like the grape, it bothers me that she showed no concern for the dog eating, or trying to eat food known to be toxic to dogs)
Has evil descended in Whispering Pines?

Shawn has done it again. I so enjoy reading about life in Whispering Pines, an idyllic place I would love to spend summers in. The intrigue, in Jayne solving the murder, has been done so well, it seems like another day in the lives of the Wiccan population. Their lives go on and friendships grow throughout the tension of knowing someone has lost their life and not knowing who is responsible, if anyone. Is it murder or is it a simple case of someone's misfortune? Jayne will make sure someone pays for their crime if one has been committed. She doesn't have a lot of time to figure it out in this popular vacation destination before the one responsible may be gone for good.

Each book I've read in this series has been more engaging than the last. Magical yet without the requirement that you ignore reality. Each one only makes me want to read more to uncover the secrets of this place. The characters are fascinating. Thank you Shawn McGuire for sharing this amazing story with us.
Loved this mystery

This has been the best story of the series so far. There’s a noticeable difference in the storytelling that not only moves the story but captures my undivided attention while reading. I had a hard time putting this one down. The characters are no longer flat, I can visualize them as real people. I’m definitely excited for the next book in the series!
