This was a book for a much, much younger person than myself, but I loved it. A beautiful storey and beautifully written. I would recommend this to anyone for a feel good read. It is about a young girl growing up in an environment very different to the one she was used to. About embracing life and facing dangers for what you believe is right and also love and trust.

A great story. Rather dated in attitudes but that I don't mind. I guess it was written for a teenage audience some time perhaps in the fifties, it is well written, the story keeping one in suspense nicely. As an old man, it was quite pleasantly nostalgic!

This was my first encounter with Eva. I bought the book for my grand daughter but decided to read it myself first. It captured my imagination and interest immediately, and I couldn't wit to get to the end of the story. I recognised the school immediately, as I have been there as a tourist, and this added to my fascination. The characters are beautifully managed, and I have given it a higher rating than many adult books I have read at my book club during the past year.

Review by 11 year old avid reader: The Dragonfly Pool is beautifully written but not in a sissy way. It has wonderful characters and describes their lives in great detail and you really connect with them. Great book for 11-13 year olds who love reading but aren't into books like those written by Jacqueline Wilson.
