About this listen

Ever since my twin sister was murdered and I blamed my best friend, my life has been nothing but an epic downward spiral.

Once a swimmer for the most prestigious West Coast college, I never in a million years thought I’d end up here.

Abandoned. Locked up. Alone.

In a moment of weakness, I call the guy who was more of a brother to me than anything, the guy I betrayed.

Shockingly, he flies cross country to bail me out. But he isn’t alone.

In tow is his new swim coach—a whistle-blowing tyrant who makes me crave pushing every button he’s ever had and tossing his list of rules into the bottom of his coveted pool.

But I can’t because now he’s my coach too.

It’s Coach Resch and the team who hates me or a four-by-four cell.

So off to Westbrook I go to serve my sentence like the good boy I’ll never be.

Coach thinks he can handle me, but he’s never met my particular brand of wild.

Please note this book contains discussions of suicide (not depicted), death, and murder of a sibling, present danger, and water trauma. This an age-gap romance. The ages of the main characters are twenty-one and forty.

I've read all of this series but this is only my 3rd audio. Absolutely feral for Em and Bodhi, probably not one for listening to whilst driving at parts LOL I was fanning myself listening in the car. Perfect end to the perfect series, loved it soooo much!

my favourite audio of the series

Bodhi continues to mourn the loss of his twin sister getting himself into more throughly each time and this time he knows it’s serious . When he calls for help he doesn’t expect to be faced with Coach Resch as well . This series as been so good I started it when I read MF so I have read/listened to them and enjoyed each one but the last two have been my favourites.

WOW! This is a fabulous listen and Cambria Hebert has outdone herself bringing Emmet and Bodhi's story. Bodhi is a mess. After the death of his sister, he has spiraled so low, he calls the one person who shouldn't help him. Rush goes to his side, and his coach, Emmett for moral support. Seeing Bodhi instantly set Emmett on edge as the attraction is palpable. To keep him out of jail, Emmett brings him to Westbrook to swim and go to school to suffice an arrest, but what does Bodhi want? Budding feelings, secret dates, trying to fit in, still in the closet, and a team that is so much more kept me captivated to my airbuds! Bodhi is a force, doesn't think before he acts and is extremely lovable. Emmett is the person Bodhi needs to keep him calm and his heart is huge! They both have so much baggage, but both have the team right behind them. I loved this, especially the texts! I was laughing and crying and just loving every minute of this!

Michael Norman Johnson and Lance Isely tell this story, with all the feels. These two are perfectly cast to their characters, Johnson the alpha, gruff Emmett and Isely the volatile Bodhi. The inflections and nuances these two narrators use pulled me in, and grabbed my heart. This is a fantastic narration.

So good!

Cambria Hebert created something very special when she created the “Westbrook Elite” world, a series with amazing characters and storylines, and each book featuring a member of the “Elite” swim team. We’ve met most of the key members of the swim team, and one constant who was always there for them is the man attached to his whistle, the one who had their backs, their coach, Emmett Resch. Bodhi continues to grieve the loss of his twin sister and is being eaten up by guilt, guilt for not being there to save her. He has been in self-destructive mode ever since, still unable to channel his anger and hate, taking it too far, once again, he lands in jail. His parents had given up on him, so he called an old friend, not expecting him to show up because he had burned that bridge too. Rush shows up with a reinforcement, Coach Resch, who had his reasons for wanting to be there, and their lawyer cut a deal for Bodhi. Part of that deal was his going back to Westbrook, attending classes and joining the Elite swim team, none of which he wanted, but a much better alternative to jail. Bodhi continues to have a chip on his shoulder, but Emmett sees him, sees how broken and hurt he is and wants to help him. That isn’t all he wants, with an undeniable chemistry between them, being madly attracted to Bodhi, and the feeling is mutual. Bodhi is off-limits, since relationships between students and faculty members can not happen, not to mention the age-gap of almost twenty years. This intense story tugs at your heartstrings like no other, and it wasn’t easy for these two, but the heart wants what the heart wants, even these who suffered from broken hearts, and these two had that in spades. It was a rocky road, with obstacles in the way, but it was a road to mending, a road to love, and I was rooting for them the entire journey. There is never a dull moment in this book, a deep and multi-layered story with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, steamy, yes daddy, romance, and to lighten things up with have the Elite, their hilarious texts and banter. As always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Cambria Hebert, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Michael Norman Johnson and Lance Isley did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them with voices that were fitting for a perfect portrayal of each. I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Both nailed it in the two lead roles, embodying their personalities completely, and they were just as fabulous performing the roles of the secondary/side characters too. They set the ideal tone for the story, conveyed all the characters’ emotions in their performance and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to, and their captivating performance keeps you glued to the story.

Remarkable Story & Listen🎧Intense & Emotional!

This series has absolutely blown me away. I fell for each and every couple and the bromances between the elite were just precious. But finally getting coach's story? Well worth the wait. I'm so glad we got this and I wasn't expecting how...saucy it would be. We met Bodhi in Whisper and while this totally could be read as a standalone I'd suggest reading the whole series cause it's so good. Seeing Bodhi get his self together and find his home with Emmett was a beautiful thing to see.
