The continuation from book 1 was seemless, with non stop action and steamy interludes, and impossible to put down! I loved the tie in to the previous series 'The First Witch', but the situation with Merlin felt unfinished will there be a book 3 or another series? This was an amazing read, with fantastic characters and wonderful narration. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

I love love love Meg Xuemei’s writing. Her world build is second to none and her characters are absolutely fascinating. This one was so action packed and intriguing that you don’t want to turn it off. Definitely a series worth listening to

This book by Meg Xuemei X was even better than the first book in the series. there were new characters that added more life, adventure, angst, heartache, joy and fulfillment to Kalamity's story. We got to witness the relationship between calamity and her four mates, the betrayal and self sacrifice of one of the mates, the betrayal of one of the protectors, and the Love between parents and their lost child. the ending of the story gave me hope but left me clinging to the ceiling by my nails. I can't wait for the next book in this series. As always, it was wonderful to hear the talented narration of Gwendolyn Duyor. Excellent book
