Most relevant

So I've read the books previously and knew they were good. That's honestly probably the only reason I managed to get past the male narrator. There's not much from the guys pov in book 1, so it's not as bad but good lord.
I will admit that the dodgy male narration does lead to some interesting takes on accents - to the point that it's almost quite funny.
That being said, the story's good and the female narrator is too. Despite the whole being locked away/traumatic upbringing stuff, it's not heavy on mental health or particularly angsty
