About this listen

What is wrong meets what feels right in this romance set in Italy by the Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author of Deep End.

Maya Killgore is twenty-three and still in the process of figuring out her life.

Conor Harkness is thirty-eight, and Maya cannot stop thinking about him.

It's such a cliché, it almost makes her heart implode: older man and younger woman; successful biotech guy and struggling grad student; brother's best friend and the girl he never even knew existed. As Conor loves to remind her, the power dynamic is too imbalanced. Any relationship between them would be problematic in too many ways to count, and Maya should just get over him. After all, he has made it clear that he wants her gone from his life.

But not everything is as it seems - and clichés sometimes become plot twists.

When Maya's brother decides to get married in Taormina, she and Conor end up stuck together in a romantic Sicilian villa for over a week. There, on the beautiful Ionian coast, between ancient ruins, delicious foods, and natural caves, Maya realizes that Conor might be hiding something from her. And as the destination wedding begins to erupt out of control, she decides that a summer fling might be just what she needs - even if it's a problematic one.

It's officially Problematic Summer

Great Hazelwood book, but the narration for this was horrible(mmc). Although for the first time I a Hazelwood FMC that was greatly casted.

Read the book, the audio isn't worth it

I love how it made me feel like I was possibly going through heart failure. Top tier yearning.

It was wholesome and filled with love.

I listened to this book in 1 day, literally couldn't stop listening. So funny, the dialogue is whip smart, realistic and such a joy. Maya is by far my favourite of Ali's characters, she's so well written. Her struggles with anger are relatable and brutally honest. It was super refreshing and suprising to hear this emotional struggle being described, its something I can relate to and I've never come across this in any of the books I've listened to. Her strength in knowing herself and communicating that with Connor was funny and sharp and at times so sad! Honeylt I loved it....plus it was hot as!!!!

superb, funny and irresistible

After several audiobooks I didn't really enjoy, this one finally hit the spot! I just love Ali's storytelling and picture-painting so I was really happy when this book came to my attention. The only thing I can think of I would change is Connor's accent. For some reason it didn't work for me though I quite like Irish accents generally. But that is due to the narrator and I managed to get past it because the story was SOOOO GOOD! Definitely a great way of spending hours and hours if you like romance and humour!

Another gem from Ali

Like all of Ali Hazelwood’s book, I devoured this! I love that she includes characters who work in STEM, absolutely loved the age gap romance & the descriptions of Italy made me want to jump on a plane! The narrators were absolutely perfect & made the book even more enjoyable 😊
