"What I find in my territory is mine to keep. Even if it’s a man."
Jag. Uninhibited. Possessive. Walks on the wild side.
Dane. Gentle giant. Monster lover. Plays it safe.
Dane always knew his illicit fantasies of rough sex and dangerous men would one day lead him down a path of no return, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t stay away.
After being beaten half to death by his ex, he wakes up in a collar, chained to a wall by a wild man who claims Dane as his property.
From the moment Jag lays his eyes on Dane, he knows he wants to keep him. Big, strong, with colorful ink all over, he is the most unique man Jag had ever seen. But Dane has to be tamed if he is to become Jag’s mate for life.
All Jag needs to do is assure Dane that he will be protected and provided for, because the sparks are already flying. But Dane keeps nagging about irrelevant things like his family, responsibilities, and the internet. No wonder Jag needs to keep him chained for longer than he expected.
The only way out for Dane is to play the role of Jag’s obedient, loving "mate", and bide his time until he can escape. But while Jag is absolutely batshit, and his junkyard den lifestyle is insanity, he also showers Dane with treats, worships the ground he walks on, and f--ks him like a monster, the way Dane always dreamed of in his most secret fantasies.

This was a contemporary take of a modern day Tarzan.
Jag's character was so realistic and I felt for him.
This book was PRIMAL in every way😏
The narrator performed an amazing audio delivery and narration!!
I love Jag!

This story is so detailed and so much happens, I was on the edge of my seat at times and even with Jag's twisted 'alpha ownership' he's so loving it just works.
Another sinfully additive series!

We meet Jag again, the wolfman who lives in the woods. Wow, we get to really meet him and his background.
Dane is a computer geek who has a love for the bad guys. The big gentle giant.
The story develops well with all the characters from the first book. We still have Frank, Shane and Rosen on the side. All I can say is that KA Merikan has a great imagination. Worth the read/listen.
It was narrated by Wyatt Baker, who does a sterling job narrating this book. However, I did speed up to 1.25 on audible like usual.

I received this audiobook for free from GRR at my request. My review is my opinion and an honest review - neither the author nor GRR influenced my opinion.

Primal is a modern day take on Tarzan and after reading the blurb I expected it to be darker than it actually was, that’s not to say it wasn’t another excellent book, just that it is slightly lighter and fun.
Jag is just so adorable and naïve you can understand how Dane falls for him.
This is a great book to introduce yourself into K.A. Merikan works if you have ever been tempted but have been unsure due to past reviews on the darkness and taboo nature of their work.

The book starts with Jag attempting to go on a date. Well, his Tarzan caveman crazyman techniques scare off his date within mere moments. It’s clear Jag doesn’t know how to interact with the modern world most people are accustomed to. Eventually his backstory is revealed and things begin to make more sense. Does it make him less nuts? Yeah…no, not really. I’ll always rank collaring a stranger and chaining him to your wall as questionable behavior.
Dane’s propensity for choosing bad mates is clear. He likes it rough, and so believed he had to choose a rough partner who was basically involved in illegal activity. When that dude beats Dane half to death and leaves him for dead, you’d think Dane would learn. Nope, pretty soon he’s falling for Jag. But Jag is different. Jag is unique. Jag will protect Dane from everyone and everything – even if that means keeping Dane away from his family and his home. He’s needed as his family rely on him way too heavily.
Okay, so where does this lead? Well, an accident derails Jag, and it looks like things aren’t going to end well. But then certain characters have certain fates dealt to them and, amazingly, I got my happy ending. Is it an ending I’d choose for myself? Uh, hell no. Have Dane and Jag found their happy place? Yep.
I’ll end this off by saying Wyatt Baker did another awesome job narrating. Really enjoyable performance. Strange story, but oddly compelling. Worth a listen (but read the trigger warnings first and be prepared for an insane ride…)
