Isolation by Drethi Anis is a dark romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Jill Cardoza and Jim Chapel. This is the second book in the Quarantine series.

The book does come with a warning: "This is a DARK romance, that contains triggers, including non-consent and dubious consent scenes, outbreak, and mental health issues. Some readers might find the subject matter offensive."

I am really liking how this series is set up. The first book was Raven and Milo's past where book two is present day and starts right where book one ended. I really enjoyed the added Novella Desolate that is part of the audiobook that gives Reid's points of view.

The best way I can describe the relationship between Raven and Milo is messy and toxic. Their story will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. I love getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brings the story to life.

I can't wait to dive into the final book in the series Essential to get the rest of their story.

Jill and Jim did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this series if you like dark romances, forbidden romances, or friends to lovers to enemies romances.

These characters have been through so much together. The entire family is now thrown into the mix causing even more tension The drama, the situations, the characters. So many emotions are depicted in this book

This was an absolute rollercoaster, the characters were incredibly well written and I loved the depths of emotions that it portrayed and evoked in me as well. The narration has been so very well picked as they bring so much to life for me.

Isolation is a brilliantly written dark romance and an excellent second instalment to the Quarantine Series. In Isolation, the layers of Milo's personality continue to peel away, and I loved getting to know him. He is a fascinating character, magnetic, complex, and complicated. There are two different versions of him, the dark/psycho version of the past and the flawed but lighter one of the present. He is a beautiful conundrum; obsessive, possessive, controlling, and far from societal norms. The dynamic and connection between Milo and Raven is intense, passionate, driven by desire, obsession, anger, and a torrent of intricate feelings. Their journey continues to be gripping, raw, explosive, emotional, and dark; I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.

Jill Cardoza and Jim Chapel continue to do a terrific job bringing the cast and story to life. They captured the nuances of the Raven and Milo's personalities, complicated emotions, and fiery chemistry. I thoroughly enjoyed their performance and storytelling. Isolation is an excellent followup to Quarantined; it's a well-written and cleverly plotted story with fascinating characters, one I'm highly recommending.
