Brutal Conquest by Lilith Vincent is a mafia forbidden romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Leanne Woodward and Bryant Walker. This is the second book in the Brutal Hearts series and can be read as a standalone.

I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the relationship between Kristian and Zenya. I loved that we got Kristian, Zenya, and Troian's points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Bryant and Leanne did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like forbidden romances, mafia romances, or aga gap romances.

Mafia and taboo, that is all I needed to see? After listening to book 1 of this series, I was ready to dive into this one, and it's dark and delicious! Christian was ready to take over the family business until his brother removed him as then next in line. Now he's ready to take back what is his, including the heart of his niece, Zenya. Zenya has been groomed to take over, after all, she is the next in line. Young, but not naive, she has been in the thick of the family for some time. But Christian is back, and he is ready to stake his claim on her. Does she feel the same? Will he get what he wants? Will he be seen as the power seeker? Zenya is quite a woman! For only being eighteen, she has a worldliness about her, and a strength that shows her maturity. Christian kept me guessing on his true intentions, adding to that suspense. This book is full of power struggles, deceit, action and excitement. It's a bit dark, but just enough to keep it the thrills high. A great listen!

Leanne Woodward and Bryant Walker bring this gem alive. Woodward ages the youthful Zenya, as time goes by, giving her the ability to be seen as a true contender. Walker is spot on in his darkness, as he creates Christian, a bit hungry for the power, but truly in love. I enjoyed these two together and their portrayal of the story.

OMG, I think I died and went to heaven. This book was amazing. The chemistry between those two, their love, devotion, adoration, commitment ... I just can't. It was perfect from start till the end.

I adore an obsessed anti hero. From the very start of the book Kristian just said "MINE" and nothing was going to get in his way.

Some of the dirty talk in this book had me turning pink.

Both narrators did an amazing job. I am likely to listen to this book again. Great mafia story with some twists and shocking moments. Taboo relationship, with an innocent heroine and over the top alpha hero.
