About this listen

When I went to my neighbor's apartment to investigate strange sounds, I never expected to fall through a portal into another world. Yet here I am, a stranger in an even stranger land...and I'm stranded. In this world, might makes right, men carry swords, and gods walk the earth. Within minutes of arriving, I'm enslaved.

The one person that might be able to help me is also the one person I want to throttle most. Aron, Lord of Storms, Butcher God of Battle, is my new companion. Or rather, I'm his. As Aron's anchor to the mortal realm, I'm the one that's supposed to be guiding him through his exile in the mortal world.

But Aron and I have a common goal - get home. And we're bonded - anchor and god - with a bond unlike any other. So, we travel together. We bicker. We bathe together. We fight our many, many enemies together. And sure, he's a god, but he's also an arrogant jerk. Brawny, smoking hot, irresistible jerk. I should want nothing to do with him. I certainly shouldn't want to do things to him.

Contains mature themes.

Loved it

I really liked this book. It is one of my new favourite ones from Ruby Dixon. It reminded me off Kristen Ashley fantasy land series which I absolutely loved.
Aron is arrogant and aggravating, but in a way that is funny because he doesn't know any better. He is a God and acts very much like one at times with his attitude. However, as the book goes on he becomes somewhat affectionate and possessive towards his Anchor, Faith. The way he was portrayed was spot one. His visible character growth was one of the things that made the book enjoyable.
Faith was Aron's perfect match. She was smart, sassy and very courageous. She held her own throughout the entire book, giving just as much as she received. She was funny and sarcastic and made me laugh a lot.
I really hope that Ruby Dixon does another one of these books as I enjoyed this one a lot. I would very much like to know how the other gods and their anchors were with each other. Hopefully, quite like Aron and Faith to begin with. Looking forward to the next book if there is one.

A slow burn romance.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the world building is incredible and the characters had me hooked from the very beginning . I will be reading more work by this author in the near future. The narration is excellent.

brilliant listen

Surprisingly cute story and a longer slow burn than I thought which was good for my tastes. The narration was good exception every now and then when talking as the MMC is came off a bit cookie monstery (epilogue in particular so it wasn’t too bad). I enjoyed listening, thank you.

Surprising

This story was way too long, so i did skip a few bits and sped up the narration, so get through it faster. Still, it loved Faith and Aron's story. He's a real self-important ahole, and her sassy personality was perfect to take him down a peg or two. This is a super slow burn, so don't expect much in terms of spice. But the little we get is good.
Overall, it was a great story that could've been shorter by 200 pages (that is just my opinion). Still, I love Ruby Dixon's writing, so i had a good time.

good but too long
